Board to Testify Against Using Public Funds for Private Sectarian Schools: The March 27 Quarterly Board meeting was held as scheduled. After full and free discussion, the Board voted to testify against legislation to allow the sale of State-backed revenue bonds to raise funds for private, sectarian schools, some of which may be religiously oriented. The main item on the agenda is the informational meeting on Oahu on the controversial McKinley Student Code which requires students to pledge "Love of God." AU member Mitch Kahle is coordinating this first-ever Oahu event to be co-sponsored by our group. Details are in the upcoming newsletter which should be in your mailbox by Monday, March 18, 2002.
