Statement Of The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Executive Director Of Americans United
At this time of national tragedy, we extend our deepest sympathy to the families of those killed and injured in the horrific attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. As a people, we cannot -- and will not -- allow these repugnant crimes to weaken our commitment to the American values of democracy, pluralism and freedom of conscience. Our nation stands united in our determination that terrorism will not triumph over constitutional government and that those guilty of these crimes will be brought to justice (posted 9/12/01 at main AU national site).
